Sock It To Poverty - September is Sock It To Poverty month, our annual citywide campaign for new socks and underwear for people in need. These are the most requested and least donated clothing room items. Participate by sponsoring a decorated collection barrel in your workplace.
Sock Sorting Party - Help sort and bag our collection of new socks and underwear that we share with many area agencies. This is a great hands-on opportunity for students to earn community service hours. Plan to bring your co-workers, friends or family members and spend a Saturday morning helping people in need. Watch for details!
CROP Walk for Hunger -October 2010… This annual event is held in Loose Park and combines fun and fundraising to raise money for hungry people throughout the world. . Participating agencies share in the proceeds, and are asked to provide volunteers to help with registration, checkpoints, water distribution, etc. This is a wonderful opportunity to represent the Center and be a part of hunger awareness, and help raise money to feed the hungry. Contact the Center to volunteer!
Holiday Food Basket Distribution …11/18 and
12/20. Help with the onsite distribution of holiday food to
individuals and families in need.
St. Joseph Table-March 19th -this annual event is sponsored by Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish. The St. Joseph's Table is a centuries old feast featuring delicious and authentically prepared Pasta Milanese, specialty cakes and pastries. All proceeds go to the Center's programs of assistance for the needy. The event is held in the Banquet Hall of Cristo Rey High School at Linwood and Broadway.
Irish Street Fest…June 19th
Redemptorist Social Services Center will be the recognized charity at the Irish Street Fest held on June 19, 2010. This annual event is sponsored by Browne's Irish Market & Deli. Tickets will be sold the day of for $10.00 but will be available to purchase beforehand through the Center for $8.00. Call to see how you can help!
